Privacy policy

This page explains what Third Shifters collects when you visit this site, sign up for a free kit, book a call or text with us, what we do with it, and how to get it deleted. If you have a question about any of it, email paulette@thirdshifters.com and I'll answer it myself.
What we collect
- What you give us. Your first name and email when you sign up for a free kit, on this site or through a Facebook or Instagram sign-up form. We may also note your type of business (for example, salon or home services) so the emails fit your business.
- Call bookings. If you book a call, the booking tool (Calendly) collects your name, email and anything you choose to write in the booking form.
- Calls and texts. If you call or text a number we run, for us or for a business we work with, we receive your phone number, the time of the call and what you write in your texts. See "Text messages" below.
- Emails you send us. If you reply to an email or write to us, we keep that conversation.
- Site visits. Like most sites, we use cookies and similar tools to see which pages people visit and whether they came from one of our ads. See "Cookies and ads" below.
The free calculator runs in your browser. The numbers you type into it stay on your device unless you choose to send them to us.
How we use it
- To send you the kit you asked for, plus a short series of follow-up emails with tips and offers related to it.
- To set up and run any call you book with us.
- To see which ads and pages are working, so we can improve them.
Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you won't get any more of them.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your information. We only share it with the services that help us run Third Shifters, and only so they can do that job:
- MailerLite, which stores our email list and sends our emails.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), which runs our ads and our in-app sign-up forms, and measures how the ads perform.
- Calendly, which handles call bookings.
- Netlify, which hosts this website.
- Twilio, which runs our phone numbers and sends and receives our text messages.
- Make, which connects our tools so a text can go out automatically, like after a missed call.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
Cookies and ads
This site uses the Meta Pixel and a MailerLite script. These place cookies or use similar tools to record page visits and sign-ups, which helps us measure our ads and show them to people likely to find them useful. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, and you can control ad tracking in your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences.
Text messages
Third Shifters sends text messages for our own business and for small businesses we work with. Every text names the business it's from.
- When you get texts. You'll only get texts after you call or text one of these numbers, ask for a quote or appointment and give your number, or agree to texts when you book with a business. Most texts are replies to you, like a text after a missed call, a follow-up on a quote you asked for, or a reminder to rebook.
- How often. It depends on what you asked for, usually 1 to 3 texts about each request. Message and data rates may apply.
- Stop anytime. Reply STOP to any text and you won't get any more from that number. Reply HELP for help, or email paulette@thirdshifters.com.
- Your number stays private. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your text opt-in and consent are never shared with any third party. We only pass your number to Twilio and Make so the texts can be sent.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Full text message terms are in our Terms of Service.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you're on our email list or working with us. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we remove it, except anything we have to keep for legal or accounting reasons.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information we have about you, correct it or delete it. Just email paulette@thirdshifters.com and we'll take care of it within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under your local privacy laws, and we'll honor those requests the same way.
Kids
Third Shifters is for business owners. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
